A couple of years ago I mailed around to the ex-B geeks
at sco, collecting a fairly complete history of the
development of the various incarnations of forum software
on b. I have some free time now (Deirdre left for Newark
this morning :( )
so I will compile all the responses I got into one timeline
and send it to you.

As for me, I started getting involved in B around winter qtr 1986,
and the first people I met were Glenn & Krissy (astroid & lynx)
and Wendy (web). Shortly thereafter I met a whole gaggle of
people including Joed, Franz, Evanh, Kevinw, Davidv, Davidbe,
Brian Barzeele, Cameron, Rich Wesson, etc. These were the
folks who formed the B social circle (as far as I knew it)
at the time. I didn't meet the previous generation (tanj,
stdout, stderr, argc, argv, steve, dorimay, etc) for a little
while.

It's amazing how many of the people I met during my freshman
year are still the people I hang out with the most.
